*NB:

The

AIRPORT A1Y

has a specific beat code but is located within the Dyce Neighbourhood. In addition, the:

NORTH SEA A1Z

is obviously outwith any Local Authority Neighbourhood.

Prior to 1 April 2004, Aberdeen City comprised two Divisions of the Force. On that date, it became one Division and the Beat Codes changed to the above codes. The majority of the current beats closely resemble the old ones. One notable exception is Aberdeen City Centre which went from several small beats to one single beat – A4H.

No comparison should be made in respect of statistical information in respect of the old and new Beat Codes as most of the boundaries changed to closely reflect the boundaries used by the Local Authority.
